Indie Zombies.

Let's get out of mainstream for a while shall we? For all of you post apocalyptic aficionados out there I would like to bring to your attention to an amazing zombie short film.

Directed by indie director Matt Simpson and co-directed and starring Joseph Luke Avery, Plague tells a story of a migrant who is a gun runner as well traveling to London in order to have a fresh start. But he comes across the walking dead and it's a whole different game then.

This film looks really good; the make-up looks good, special effects are great albeit the small budget the film producer gets. The plot is solid, as well as the storytelling which somehow reminds me of 28 days later.

Well, I won't hold you back any longer, here's Plague.

You guys have any favorite zombie film by any indie director? I really like to check up on more from the indie scene.

Love, Zombie.

Frosted Cigar Wishes You Merry Christmas.

It's Christmas and on behalf of the other writers of Frosted Cigar, I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas.

Since it's holiday, I'm going to post family friendly upcoming movies.

Alright, first, Shrek. I've covered this movie earlier this month, and apparently a teaser trailer has been released and floating around for quite some time. It's Shrek's final act (or so they say). Would you see this movie? I think it won't be much different than the other Shrek movies before this. But that does not mean it won't be funny anymore right? Kids will love Shrek and donkey return to the big screen.

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, John Ratzenberger, Joan Cusack and Michael Keaton unite in Toy Story 3. This movie returns to the big screen brings more than just a promise of great animation (it's a Pixar), it also brings back memories. I remember watching the first Toy Story when I was eleven and now about 14 years later I finally get to blog about it. How's that...just looking at the number of years is enough to make me feel old. The trailer has been around since June but anyway here is Toy Story 3. Are you excited about it? I have mixed feeling about this one because lately sequels and remakes just don't work anymore. Just hope Toy Story 3 delivers just as I remember them to be.

Last but not least is the remake (uh-oh) of Karate Kid. I'm disappointed in Will Smith. Why do he has to rely on Karate Kid's name? I mean this movie is nothing like Karate Kid. The setting is in China, and that is already confusing because there is no Karate in China. Well, maybe there is but when you mention China, Karate probably won't even cross your mind. I've watched the trailer over and over again trying to make sense of this movie. Can't they just rename it to something else and drop it with 'karate kid remake'. There are a lot of movies out there that use the same formula as karate kid but surely they don't claim to be sequels or remakes. Will you see it? What do you think of the whole 'remake' thing?

Alright that's all I have for you guys. Hope you guys have a really great holiday.

Love, Zombie.

Math with faerie!

What?! You don’t believe I can do math? Here…I have a simple equation for you guys who do not believe that fairies also can do math. The equation:

Festive seasons + school breaks = wedding ceremonies

Simple enough? Ahaha...wedding ceremonies are one of important ceremonies that fairies need to attend. It is time to create the magical moments especially for the married couples on their big day. Yup! Time to spread those fairy dusts!

Wedding gifts are the most common way to congratulate a couple for their marriage. There's no need for it to be expensive, just simple and neat will do. So, it's not about what things that are given as a wedding gifts, but it's how you wrap for it to be neat and pretty. So here I will show how to wrap a simple wedding gift. What you need are scissors, wrapping paper, sellotape, double-sided tape, ribbon, stickers and of course your gift.
  1. First, cut out wrapping paper according to the size of your gift. Here, I used the whole wrapping paper.
  2. Before you start wrapping your gift, fold a few layers at one side of the wrapping paper to create the look of paper fan (please measure and determine the correct position of the layers so that it will look nice on top of your gift).
  3. After you are finished creating the layers, you can start wrapping you gift.
  4. For the finishing look, add a ribbon on top of your gift. The position of the ribbon is up to you. As what I did, I put it at the left top side.
  5. This how you gift will look like…

Oh, I forgot, for the mini card, I cut a red colour paper (9cm x 15cm) and fold it into two. Next I cut another paper (blue) into 8.5cm x 7cm. Then, I put a few stickers on top of the blue paper and add on some glittering glue here and there. Later, I glued the blue paper on top of the red paper (front side).

I hope this simple tutorial is useful for you guys and for those out there who wants to share any tutorials on how to wrap a gift in simple, nice but creative ways, feel free to leave a comment and share it with us and the others.

p/s For the wedding dress and tuxedo stickers, you can have that too. Just download it from here http://dfc.c-ij.com/en/contents/3176/sticker-wedding002/index.html. After you download it, print it and start cutting and pasting your sticker.

** Thanks to Canon Creative Park for the wedding stickers set

Iron Man 2

On the 17th, Marvel just released the trailer for the new Iron man movie. As we all now RDJ will be back, reprising his role as the billionaire turned superhero. This time around, the movie packs in a lot of great actors to join RDJ on the big screen. Mickey Rourke plays the villain Whiplash which is, for me, a decent adversary for the iron clad hero. Scarlett Johansson will be playing the role as Natasha Romanoff or Black Widow, and did I mention Sam Rockwell will be in it also? After the great performance in the sci fi film Moon, I just can't wait to see his work again, although he will only play a minor role.

War Machine! Finally we get to see War Machine, but sadly there's only so much as a glimpse of him in the new trailer.

I heard that Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) will have more screen time and it's interesting to find out the extent of SHIELD intervention in this movie. Just hope that they are not being too ambitious and try to cramp up too many things in the movie.

Anyway, I won't hold you back any longer. Here's the trailer for Iron Man 2. Enjoy.

I am Kick Ass.

I love Kick Ass because...well...he kicks ass. Seriously I just love Kick Ass because he is the thing that lurks inside of us wanting to be a superhero. Only he goes to the extreme and take it to the street. That's kick ass, a 'superhero' with zero power and hilarious. He will be on the big screen next year which is bummer because I thought it was supposed to be this year. I've been hearing about this movie since summer of 08 when it was still in script stage and haven't heard anything else until last month. The official website is up but with limited contents; nothing much except for links to posters and trailer. Anyway here's the trailer and a short clip of a scene with Big Daddy (Nicholas Cage) and Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz).

Wait for Kick Ass in cinema next year. It's going to be hilarious.

Jason Mraz Is A Virus!!!

This week viral video belongs to a five year old kid with an Ukulele. It has received over 4 million views (and rising) and also have been re-posted over and over again by different users.

So far this video has kept me smiling and laughing because it's funny. At first I thought he was singing in some kind of foreign language but it turns out that he was singing the original lyrics.

Thus, enjoy the latest web sensation and sing along with the kid's rendition of Jason Mraz I'm Yours.

What a cute kid XD

Zombie, out.

Nicholas Cage Is Mad Eye Moody?

It's been a really slow week for me. Nothing much happening that caught my interest except for the new trailer from Disney's Sorcerer's Apprentice

I bet by now you've already know what's this story is all about. But, if you don't, worry not. Sorcerer's Apprentice is an adaptation from the famous Goethe's poem and yes, it has been used before in Disney's ever famous movie Fantasia which I think is known better to us than the poem itself. If you remember the scene with Mickey and his mischief with the broom, then you got it, - Sorcerer's Apprentice is basically written (or adapted) from that scene. Only that it is done in a more modern tone and different take on storytelling.

Hah, I lied. I wish it was all about the broom because it would've make much more sense than what they are trying to pull here. I don't mean to be all negative about this movie but tying it to Fantasia is not a good move on their behalf. Watch the trailer and you get what I mean. It doesn't have anything to do with the Fantasia we know at all. So why bother saying that it is based on or resurrected Fantasia in the first place? But I have to give the movie a credit, though the trailer does look beautiful on the screen.

For your information, Jay Baruchel will play the role of the sorcerer's apprentice and Nicholas Cage will have the lead as the sorcerer (or Master Yen Sid if you prefer it in Fantasia context).

Anyway here's the trailer.

Will this movie works? It has Nicholas Cage in it, which all he does recently is spell disappointment on the screen. It's a Jerry Bruckheimer movie, but will it be a sure fire? It has loads of effects thrown in. Will it be just another CGI laden movie? Let me know what you think.

p/s: Is it me or Nicholas Cage looks like a cross between Mad Eye Moody in Harry Potter and Hugh Jackman Van Helsing?

Zombie, out.

Seriously from Paris with Love

Most probably Hollywood has already dried up with a good, nice and significant title movies, because the title of this movie certainly not making any sense. Just take your time looking at the new poster, and while you're at it, grab a paper and pen and try to list down the significance of oversize gun and explosions with the word "Paris" and "love". I don't know about you, but it's sure a hard task for me.

When I heard this poster was out, I'm thinking of something more like "Big Ugly Truth" kind of poster, but instead got aimed directly by John Travolta with a huge rpg firearm, with game-like motion explosion at the back! But anyway, I expect great things from this movie. It's been long since we saw Travolta on the screen that I almost thought he had become the Governor. So, I hope you'll enjoy this recently released poster, and Frosted Cigar loves you all! Regards...

No Greengrass, no Damon…WHAT?!!!!

I kept asking myself, how the hell will Bourne 4 be on screen without its most talented director (Paul Greengrass) and its real Jason Bourne (Matt Damon)?! In the article I found in Cinema Blend about the issue, Matt Damon clearly stated that he will have nothing to do with the sequel of the movie without the involvement of Greengrass inside the production. That’s indeed a bummer!! Without Damon, what was really there to watch in Bourne heh? (or is it just me exactly? LOL!)

So the story goes on that the Universal Studio went on with the sequel of the movie despite previous saying that Bourne Ultimatum will wrap it up for Robert Ludlum’s novel on the screen. Demanding for Greengrass as the director, for his astounding performance in Bourne 3 which had somehow obtained the movie 2 Oscar awards, he slammed the door on them, saying that he won’t be back for Bourne 4. Maybe he thought the possibility to topple the last Bourne movie was impossible, or he was really done playing around Jason Bourne character. This decision thus affected Damon’s answer when asked whether he’ll be back as Jason Bourne. He said,

"I’ll just wait for him and when he wants to do one, we’ll do it. I’ve always said that. But I think it will happen down the road. We just don’t have a script right now."

Is it just me or this answer was tinged with hopeful thought? Or is it just a conspiracy spiraling among them before they began a new conspiracy for another Bourne? Anyway, there’s nothing much to be said about it. All we can do is wait, and truth shall surfaced along the way, leaving trails of speculations at the back heh?

New Moon - Really?!!!

First of all, I would like to clarify that I'm not a twilight-hater, and my opinions here are not influenced by any grudge or despise that usually became the case when it came to twilight, alright? I'll keep it brief, and as honest as I can be about this movie.

2008 - Twilight : This movie blasted away the audience, be it a fan or not, with fast paced storyline, blood thumping actions and the hotness of Robert Pattinson. A praise to Catherine Hardwicke as the director, who presented the movie in a grasping way that even captured the attention of non-fans and peoples' who don't even knew the existence of Twilight.

2009 - New moon : Well, for starters, there's too much "You're everything to me...", "You're the world to me...", "I don't want to live without you...", then it goes like hugs and kisses that drone on and on for the rest of the movie. Some people may be up for the romantic scenes and stuffs, but for others, it's boooriiing! Some of us are up to the actions promised by the cool new moon's trailers man! It doesn't have to be actions and brawling between werewolves and vampires for the whole movie, but at least be optimum for both romance and actions, you know what I mean? Keep all the details to books, and bring only the cool and important parts to the screen, don't cha think?

Okay, enough about that. I'll keep my promise to keep it short. But before I go, I have to say that the werewolves in the movie are probably the best I ever seen! It wows me, and I really wish I can see they fight for a little bit longer, but...oops! Okay, I'll just stop here okay? Thanks for reading and Frosted Cigar loves you all...

"You're the world to me Bella..."

For the records, Rotten Tomatoes had given New Moon 29% in Tomatometer...

Freddie's Revival, Shrek's End.

So what interest me today?

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
Yup, another remake. Produced by Michael Bay the movie will hit cinemas on 30th April 2010. Let's just hope it won't suck as much as well...all the other remakes out there.

2. Shrek, Forever After.
Our beloved ogre will return to the screen for the last time next year (somewhere in May if I am not mistaken) in full 3D. According to the interview with director Mike Mitchell, the final installment of the movie will bring back all that is to love about Shrek. The premise for the movie this time around is Shrek wanting to get his ogre badness back because he felt like being domesticated. Thus, he strikes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin (he appeared few times in Shrek 2 and 3) but the deal goes wrong and Shrek has to confront what life would be like in Far Far Away if he had never existed.

Shrek and Rumpelstiltskin in Shrek Forever After. Rumpelstiltskin returns for the final film after making brief pop-ups in Shrek 2 and 3.

3. Chronicle of Narnia: Voyage of The Dawn Treader.
Narnia will make a comeback for the third installment in the series and this time, they're all riding on a boat. Three new photos have been released and from the look of it, Dawn Treader looks really awesome. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is being directed by British filmmaker Michael Apted and is currently scheduled for release on 10th December 2010.

The helm of the Dawn Treader

Ben Barnes as King Caspian and Skandar Keynes as Edmund Pevensie returning for an adventure to the utter east on board the Dawn Treader.

Georgie Henley as Lucy Pevensie on the Dawn Treader

Alright people, that's all for today. I'll return with more goodies soon.

Love, Zombie.

Iron man 2 + Deathly Hallows = Buzz!

Sorry for weird title, it's just that I can't think of a clever one. Okay, now what's buzzing this week? Check out the list I've made for you guys.

1. A teaser poster of Iron Man 2!
It is not just a poster, but a poster revealing War Machine! Cool huh?

2. Harry Potter released first still of Deathly Hallows.
Not much news on this one but hey, I guess it's a way of Yates and crew telling that they are okay and the movie is on its way. Potter will be released next year in a two part movie with the second part airing in 2011.

3. Jaden Smith in Karate Kid remake, few stills released.
As all of you know, the remake featured Jaden, Will Smith son, as the lead role and also Jackie Chan will play Mr. Miyagi. That's all wrong...There's just so many things that's wrong with this. Jackie Chan played a Japanese character? Don't get me started but anyway, check out the stills by following this link - Stills.

4.James Cameron released some behind the scenes from the highly anticipated Avatar.

Alright guys, that's all from me. Catch you guys later.

Zombieland - One Hell Of A Carnival Ride

I always loved zombie movies and this one makes it right up to the top of my favorite list. Zombieland, featuring Woddy Harrelson (Tallahassee), Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Emma Stone (Wichita), and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock), is a zombie movie which does not take itself too seriously. That's a good thing because I am tired of seeing over-calculated zombie movies with over-zealous characters.

Sometimes it's just nice to have a chance watching a movie that knew how to enjoy itself. That might sound a bit strange but the truth is, Zombieland is just very entertaining because you see, in an era when the zombie subgenre has been pricked, poked, gouged, and pulled in every iteration, sometimes it’s nice to go back to basics: It’s not about pet zombies, or Nazi zombies, zombie porn, or capturing zombies on camera for the YouTube masses. Neither is it about fast zombies, slow zombies, smart zombies or dumb zombies. A good zombie movie — and nothing has approached Zombieland in pure goodness since Shaun of the Dead — is about killing zombies, plain and simple.

Rants aside, Zombieland have many things to offer from the standard zombie movies gores, funny zombie moments, clever slo-mo scenes, stylized zombie killings and perhaps the best motivation for a zombie movie ever that does not concern itself to tie it neatly at the end. The whole movie just feel like an old school carnival ride, a very fun carnival ride that lures you to do it again, again and again. Never gets old, never gets tiresome.

Watch Zombieland if you:
- Like zombie movies
- Find Shaun of the Dead very entertaining
- Want to chill out and watch simple (but cool) movie
- Like gore stuff
- Want to watch something funny without being too retarded

Don't watch Zombieland if you:
- Hated slapstick comedy
- Hated guns and fights
- Have no love for the undead
- Looking for plot, for narrative complexity, or for layers of intricacy

Zombie Clown - Perhaps the scariest thing ever appeared on the screen.

Zombies having a nice day out at Hollywood sidewalks.

Amazingly done slo-mo scene. You can watch several of those in the trailer.

RIP mininova.org - Good Things Come To An End

On 26 November 2009, the biggest public torrent site, Mininova was forced to delete all infringing torrents and goes 'legal'. According to the court order from the Dutch received by the admins, they need to take out all of the materials uploaded on the site or risked being shut down permanently and in addition they will have to pay 5 million euros should they fail to do so.

That's sad. I am really surprised to see Mininova torrents reduced to only a few insignificant stuff. At first I thought they had some kind of problems, or maybe going through maintenance as I am not aware of the issues Mininova had been facing. After a visit to the Mininova blog, only then that i found out about the news. It appears that they had been fighting the case in court since June this year and the final verdict was not on Mininova's side.

Well, after 5 years of service, home to thousands of uploaders and users, it's finally come to an end. The site is still there you can check it out(link), but you won't find anything except for the Content Distribution torrents. There is no news yet as to where Mininova will go from this point. Well, we're all going to miss you Mininova. It's been fun but I guess now all of us have to find a new home.

Spielberg and King - Ingredients for an ingenious miniseries!

I have a bit of a confession to make here before I start. Honest? I’m not really a fan of science fiction as a kid. But as long as I remembered, a movie of the 80’s changed everything. It was about an alien, fallen to earth unto the care of a loving boy; a movie called E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), and upon seeing this movie, I was like,
“Whoa…Sci-Fi is really cool!” - My first appreciation of sci-fi, and then, it goes like,
“The guy who did this is truly a prodigy!” – There goes my first credit to Steven Spielberg.

And I’m not a biggie for horror neither. But one mere collection of books by Stephen King changed my mind. This guy is a genius, and I bet most people would agree on that. Throw him a paper and ink, and he’ll hurl back a gasping horror that never had crossed your mind.

And now, this duo are going to work on a miniseries based on a novel “Under the Dome” by Stephen King which had just been released on November 10, 2009, and honestly…this project gonna explode! With the courtesy of Dreamworks Picture, 1088 pages of the novel will make their way towards the screen, having two geniuses as the backbone, back to back…how interesting is that!

I haven’t got my hand on the book yet, but as far as I know, the story goes in a small vacation town in Maine, where an invisible force field suddenly materialized, cutting the locals off from the outside world. And the cost they have to pay for survival jostled upon the piles of fears and total madness.

So I’m guessing this is a good book to read, and hell of a good series to watch! Don’t cha think?

Archangel Michael Vs Dean Winchester - 100th Supernatural myth

Oh God, this is exciting!! Watching supernatural heven't been more exciting than this don't you think? After 4 years through every thick and thin, supernatural had its stand and became the most infectious and addictive series of all times (well, at least it is for me!)

But wait, this wasn't the case here... For all of supernatural fans over the entire world, justice is appearing before our eyes as the truth revealed. Bit by bit, Eric Kripke and Sera Gamble brought us through revelations and now apocalypse, and believe me, it's way better than 'armageddon' or 'the end of days'. And now, surviving until season 5, supernatural celebrates its 100th episode by bringing you the most awaited epic battle of Archangel Michael and Dean Winchester, entangled in a heavy mythology lore.

However as a fan of supernatural, we expect the unexpected and foresee the unpredicted. Thus, as escalating as this episode may be, I would like to invite you all (including the 'newlyfan' and non-fan) to foresee the probability that Dean might lose the battle, and I challenge you to bet on it! If somehow Dean stood a chance, how sure are you about him winning against an angel, let alone an archangel? So before the 20th episode in season 5 comes out, please have your say inside the comment box...

So imagine Dean swinging full strength everything he could throw towards his opponent, while the archangel sit motioning a finger effortlessly to stop him. It won't be a fair fight, but as far as I know, Supernatural always makes way for the impossible, something beyond the natural order, as the name conspicuously implied.

Obsessions; Robert Pattinson unleashed!!

Attention people! All of the crowd that are pheromoned by Robert Pattinson's charm should be 'gay' because of this upcoming documentary...

p/s: Sorry I used the word 'gay', but in this context, it means happy okie?

Entertainment weekly
revealed yesterday that some research has to be done regarding the obsessions that hover around the twilight star, Mr. Robert Pattinson. Hence, Revolver Entertainment decided to bring his life behind the screen on air by filming a documentary which will be released this November, after theatrical date of 'New Moon'.

So imagine yourself getting to know that hot Robbie a little bit closer - his childhood story, his career stages, favourite movies (other than harry potter and twilight), flowers, bla bla bla... OMG. I can hear those obsessed fans screaming already.

So here's a little guess. I haven't heard much about Robbie lately, maybe he was trying to let things cool off for a while before the 'New Moon' movie. And maybe he allowed the documentary to be up to let his fans know him better without chasing him around.

So for those who are obsessed about him, go and see, and for those who are not, wait for Daniel Radcliffe instead! LOL!

Fat ugly side of sex – Mike Chadway

Be frank here. Sometimes you’ll have the feelings that you knew the story sucks just by looking at the poster heh?! Well try this…what do you think of a poster of a smiling woman in a beautiful red dress holding a solid love aloft, leaning against a wall, and a guy leaning against the other side of the wall, looked rather confused? Will it sucks? Well, either way, it may whisk passed your eyes like an abandoned page of a book when others are filled with grasping violence of ghosts and goriness, am I right? No?

Well at least that’s what I thought when I first saw the poster of ‘The ugly Truth’ at the side of the cinema’s hallway. I tend to flipped aside those kind stories, and I guess that was a bit racist huh? A bit selfish too, when some of my readers are here to find out about the movie like that. So I decided to take a shot at the movie.

Damn… It was good! So funny that I couldn’t stop laughing even after the movie ended. I even laughed while I was writing this review for heaven sake. But I won’t spoil the story for you. You ought to know for yourself. So grab a ticket and see for yourself.

But I had to say this though, don’t censor the vulgarity of their conversation using ‘beep’ or ‘boop’ or ‘poop’ or whatever sound there is! It’s really truly a turnoff! Just ignore the kids who had come to see the movie and blame their parents for letting them to do so, because clearly the movie was rated unsuitable for viewers under 18. So whadda fuck?!

I’ll tell you something about ‘The Ugly Truth’. It is where Mike Chadway (Gerrard Butler) makes jokes about the neglected truth about life which somehow had caught the attention of the lady in red (Katherine Hiegl). However I must warned you that their jokes are mostly about sex, so don’t watch this film if you cannot take sex as a funny thing. LOL!

So, there it is… I gave some credit for ‘The Ugly Truth’ as one of the good movie of 2009. Thanks for reading guys!

Isn't them sweet?

SAW theory.

Yes I know, it's getting kinda old for SAW to be releasing one movie after another. But what if jigsaw was playing with us. What if we are misled into thinking that the boring detective was behind all of the sick games after jigsaw dies. What if the movies had clues in them that we are not aware of till it hit us in the end? Since SAW will be releasing this Halloween (as usual) my friend has a very interesting theory regarding the real scheme behind SAW. Well, here you go,

Legendary Trio stepped forward for Heath

January 2008, the world suffered a great loss when a talented actor who ingeniously left us the best performance of Joker ever made, passed away. It granted him and proved his worthiness of receiving an Oscar for the best supporting actor. ‘The Dark Knight’ practically became a legend, where Heath Ledger marked his ending in filming industry with an unmatchable piece of art, or not.

(Clears throat…)

The truth unraveled that the role as Joker was not his last role before he died. From the director of ‘The Fisher King’, ’12 Monkeys’, Terry Gilliam brings you the reincarnation of Heath Ledger as Tony in a movie called ‘The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus’. However the filming got disrupted in the middle of completion due to Heath’s death. And most of all, Gilliam was a bit nervous that he might not complete the film at all.

That’s about time when the legendary three stepped forward to pay their last homage to a legend himself. They’re Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law. They offered themselves- all three- to play the role of Tony on Heath’s behalf. Now how would you think of that? I guess we just leave that to Gilliam to think of heh?

Well, this movie will be released on Christmas day this year. So I figure that it would be the best Christmas present of all for us. The final performance, would unravel this Christmas…

In loving memory of Heath Andrew Ledger

Popcorn With Zombie Part 2.

What up guys. Let's continue our list of this fall's most awaited movie as per published in Entertainment Weekly.

Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire.
release date: 06-11-09

This movie won a lot of awards at the Sundance Festival. A story about an illiterate Harlem teenagers struglling with unwanted pregnancy. Sounds familiar? A tiny bit. Might be a surprisingly good movie regardless of the weird casts.

Will I see it?

Maybe. I don't know. Usually this type of movie will come out as a surprise or they just don't work out at all.

2012
release date: not 2012 (13-11-09)

This year we will going to see what it will be like when the world decided to end in 2012. It's kind of like a preview of what's to come.

Do you remember Roland Emmerich? Oh you'll remember him as long as you remember the exploding White House in Independence Day. That's his work. This time he promises mass property damage, a bigger scale of explosion and of course the end of the world. He even got John Cusack tagging along for the ride.

Will I see it?

Of course. Besides post apocalyptic movies, I also dig movies that features random people running helter skelter and screaming for help.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox
release date: 13-11-09

Do you like stop-mo animation? If you do then you're going to love this movie. Featuring the voice of George Clooney we will follow a band of foxes as they try to get through the threats from local farmers.

Will I see it?

Regrettably no. I'm not into animated movies, and seldom watch them unless it is exceptionally good or have receive a lot of hypes from all around. But, The Fantastic Mr. Fox looks like a great family movie. So watch this folks.

P/s: I don't know much about this movie. Is it an adaptation of Roald Dahl story with the same title?

The Twilight Saga: New Moon
release date: 20-11-09

If the poster does not get girls into seeing this movie, I don't know what will. This year Twilight saga continues with more good looks, vampires, more werewolves and awkward dialogues(don't kill me for that, it's true, look for them as they were loads of such dialogues in the movie). We will see Edward and Jacob murder each other with Bella looking horrified while trying to look awfully delicious in the background.

Will I see it?

Broken Embrace
release date: 20-11-09

Penelope Cruz!

Will I see it?

Penelope Cruz!

Nine
release date: 25-11-09

Looks like we have two movies entitled nine this year but this one does not concern itself with apocalypse or machine overtaking the world. This nine is a movie musical featuring Daniel Day-Lewis, Penélope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, and Sophia Loren. That spells hot women in hot clothes and dancing (refer to the picture on your left).

Will I see it?

Maybe.

The Lovely Bones
release date: 11-12-09

I have mentioned this movie before. By now I guess you know what the movie is all about

Will I see it?

Yes. Peter Jackson and story by Alice Sebold. Definitely going to watch this.

Avatar
release date: 18-12-09

After thrashing Christian Bale's light in Terminator Salvation, Sam Worthington returns in a movie by James Cameron. That is awkward, but anyway it has been a while since James Cameron take on the sci fi genre and I'm thrilled to see he's back on his turf.

Will I see it?

Yes for Sam Worthington.

Did You Hear About The Morgans?
release date: 18-12-09

No, I haven't heard of the Morgans, and I don't want to hear anything from them. I disagree with EW on this one.

Will I see it?

No. Hugh Grant...I hate Hugh Grant.

Sherlock Holmes
release date: 25-12-09

It is definitely a nice christmas gift for all of us. After ditching the heavy iron suit, Robert Downy Jr. returns as the famous detective and futhermore with Jude Law as his trusted sidekick Watson. What could be more thrilling than that?

Will I see it?

Yes, yes, yes.

There you have it, all twenty movies coming out on the later part of this year. Personally there are some movies that I think should have made the list but didn't. Anyway hope this will give y'all some insights on movies to watch. Happy viewing.

Zombie, out.

Popcorn With Zombie Part 1.

Hey guys. Since Roldan is MIA, I'll be your friendly neighborhood host for a while. Hope you're not sick of me (yet).

Alright, Entertainment Weekly has publishes 20 movies coming out this fall that they just can't wait to see. Let's check em' out and see if Zombie (and you) agrees.

Nine
release date: 09-09-09

Tim Burton? - Check.
Timur Bekmembetov? - Check.
Oscar winner Shane Acker? - Check.

Honesty this is one of the most anticipated movie for Zombie. It has everything that you'll ever wish for. Three big names, magnificent voice talents, and cool release date.

What else do you want?

Ticket to the movie? - Check.

The Informant
release date: 18-09-09

ZOMG! Matt Damon!

I can hear Roldan screaming already.

Will I see it?

Yes, for Matt's packing up extra fat for the role and his goofy look in the poster.

Jennifer's Body
release date: 18-09-09

Megan Fox, please eat me.

Will I see it?

Are you kidding? It's Megan Fox. With the word body in the title and the teen horror flick premise, I won't think twice.

MUST SEE!

Shutter Island
release date: 02-10-09

Martin Scorsese and Leornardo Dicaprio, two names that never fails to deliver. With a noir feel to it, this one hold some promises.

Will I see it?

Yes, for Leo-D creepy stare.

Capitalism: A love Story
release date: 02-10-09

Michael Moore and his latest documentary on America.

Will I see it?

I think I'll sit this one out cos' it's too smart for me. Besides, I don't know why Michael Moore and I can't be friends.

Couples Retreat
release date: 09-10-09

Vince Vaughn plus many other big names thrown into the mix. Tropical paradise, couples, sandy beaches, couples, Vince Vaughn, couples. Did i mention there are a lot of couples?

Will I see it?

Most of you might disagree with me. But this is one of the movie in the list that did not catch my interest one bit. Maybe it's because of Vince Vaughn...I don't know. Used to like his work tho, but meh, not anymore.

Zombieland
release date: 09-10-09

Finally a zombie movie and a very good one too. Trailer looks good. It kinda remind me of Rodriguez's Planet Terror. This one will be a gut busting ride.

Will I see it?

Definitely! Oh my, look how big Abigail Breslin is now.

The Road
release date: 16-10-09

It is always nice to visit post apocalyptic world (in a creepy way of course). And to top it off, it's based on a Pulitzer winning novel by none other than Cormac McCarthy (author of No Country For Old Men). Should the movie follow closely to the book, then we're going to see some disturbing and really messed up stuff.

Will I see it?

Yes. I am always a sucker for post apocalypse movie.

Where The Wild Things Are
release date: 16-10-09

Okay, I have a confession to make. The monsters illustration used to creep the hell out of me (still do).

Anyway, this year as I said in previous posts, is the year for book adaptations. Joining the regiment is the ever popular Maurice Sendak's creepy ass (to me that is) Where The Wild Things Are.

Will I see it?

Although I am a bit reluctant but yes, I will see it. The movie probably going to give me nightmares for days (might be for the entire week) but since it is one of the most anticipated movie this year, I'll watch it.

A Christmas Carol
release date: 06-11-09

Another book adaptation to the addition of this fall's movie. Who does not know this book must be an alien. Robert Zemeckis and Jim Carrey team up to bring one of the great classic ever made by the great man himself ,Charles Dicken, to the big screen in glorious 3D.

Will I watch it?

Yes, Jim Carrey makes a perfect Ebeneezer Scrooge.

That's it guys, the first part for this fall's most anticipated movie. Be sure to check in back later for the second part of the list.

This is Zombie signing out.
