Marvel to Blizzard: Sam Raimi’s crashed identity

Months ago, we had seen one of Sam Raimi’s claimed ‘masterpiece of horror’ when he directed a thrilling, blood thumping movie, ‘Drag me to hell’. I personally saw the movie as a great success to the world of entertainment leading to a windfall, and huge audience. And not only that, his greatest masterpiece of all time is seen and remembered as the most famous superhero, Spiderman.

So next, this great director has brought us good news again when he agreed to signed for a movie from a big screen adaptation of the online game ‘World of Warcraft’ by Blizzard Entertainment. The movie is called Warcraft, and the news had been confirmed by AICN before it was confirmed by Variety. This is going to be huge, don’t you think? I cannot even start to imagine how the hell they are going to make a real action movie from this superhuman game!

Now, many of you would ask, what about Spiderman 4? Don’t worry guys. Sam Raimi is still there for the Marvel superhero. He only will begin shooting for Warcraft after Spiderman 4 is done. So most probably the filming will begin early 2010. But rest assured, if it’s Raimi we’re talking about, then it’s worth the waits. So, calling out for the Warcraft hardcore out there, prepare your alliance and get ready for it!

“At its core, 'Warcraft' is a fantastic, action-packed story."

Harry Potter’s sixth good years! Cheers!

Admit it! This story is blood thumping, heart grasping and probably had the best plot ever made. And even better, tomorrow is the day for Harry to be back to Hogwarts for his sixth good and successful years.

Just recently, we heard something really new from Vatican regarding the previous comments about how Harry Potter series provoke Satanism in its story building. To be honest here, I couldn’t even digest the nonsensical and the creativeness of those pious people to tie in the fact in way that it became confusing and believable to certain people. Come on guys! It’s just a story. Fiction to be specific! So what’s the big deal? Writers need space to pull up a good story that is honest and enjoyable to them. It’s the only way for them to get free from bogus reality people always bragged about. So let them be and don’t disturb them while they are conjuring the world of their own.

But thank God the controversies about this topic were clarified by Vatican newspaper yesterday when they gave two thumbs up for the new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. In spite of pulling out their creative negative comments on such a good story (sigh), finally they pulled out a positive one and said the story brought good and clear exemplary situation where good overcome any evil, even though sometimes you had to sacrifice yourself for it. Well done on digging that out, Vatican news!

Anyway, I hate to spoil this good story to you all, so you won’t hear much rant about the plot of this story. Perhaps, all I can say is Dumbledore will bring Harry to the secrets from the past of the Evil Wizards Voldemort in search of a way to defeat the dark lord. Watch this movie and I promise you’ll never regret it!

In other news, I was relieved to hear that Rupert Grint was recovering from the dreadful swine flu he caught. BBC news had confirmed that he was suffering from a mild case of it and now that he has recovered, was ready for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows filming. I’m really really grateful to hear that.

So for that Frosted Cigar tipped the brim of its wine glass and lift it up to the well being of Harry Potter’s actors! Cheers!

Long live Harry Potter!!

Whisper your name to the wind

“Hey Lost Faerie! Come here a second”

Ohh…I hate that when people called me Lost Faerie. That’s not my real name actually. They gave that name because I always get lost when I’m going somewhere. But sometimes I answered the name because it somehow suited me. Heee…

Wait, I think you guys can call me Lost Faerie. Because this name kind of remind me to these two persons which are very dear to me. I don’t remember when, maybe thousand years ago. They gave me name, hope, courage and protection when I first came here to Earth. We shared and created unforgettable memories. I really wanted to have those happy moments again. Million thanks to Wise Sorcerer and Witty Phantom.

Hmm…back to the real thing that I wanted to share with you guys. I found this website, which is quite interesting because here you can check your very own fairy name. Thanks to this website because now I remembered my real fairy name. Don’t really like it because I recalled that all others fairies called me a “troublesome little thing”. I guess I stick with Lost Faerie. So, why don’t you guys check out this website and let’s share your fairy name with me. As my real fairy name:

Your fairy is called Berry Saturnwand
She is a trouble maker.
She lives in fruit orchards and vineyards.
She is only seen when the seer holds a four-leafed clover.
She wears red, cerise and purple berry colours. She has delicate pale pink wings like a cicada.

Oh, please don’t call me by that name okay? Just call me Lost Faerie. ‘Till we meet again. Don’t forget to share your fairy name.

5 Books you must read during summer

When the color of life in spring gone, thus summer came to shine. We tanned our skin under the sun, we go to the nearest beach to swim, we took a vacation to rest, and most of all, we pick up books to read, right? The world was ailing and suffered a bad economic flow, but we never lack books. Writers never stop imagining stories in their mind and they never stopped to put it in the most beautiful line on a piece of paper. So while you were appreciating the season, please save some for books okay?

As I said, summer is the time for us to relax, so, I’m going to recommend books that would satisfy your leisure reading. I’m not going to emphasize on literary value of a book, but I’d prefer the smoothness of the flow in a story and the inspiring idea and plot about the world and life. Easy to read and entertaining, that’s what I’m talking about. So for those of you who were thinking of books to read during summer, I’m here to help you on that. Here’s a list, with some of the reasons why I recommend it to you.

Woof! – Allan Ahlberg
Genre: Humor, Adventure
Brief review:-
Very well written. Literarily understandable and have an interesting plot of a boy who somehow turned into a dog. Allan Ahlberg twisted the story and put into words an experience so well that it’s almost believable.

The Traveler – John Twelve Hawk
Genre: Thriller suspense, Sci-fi
Brief review:-
Filled with suspense and actions, until your heart beats the same pace as the characters. When destiny of a warrior and the gifted was entwined, a great story come in between. And John Twelve Hawk is the one who successfully pulled such story.

The Bartemious Trilogy – Jonathan Stroud
Genre: Fantasy
Brief review:-
Humorous and interesting character of a witty genie. Interesting switch of different styles in writing that fell in one story. Page turning and funny, that well brewed until you’ll find it hard to put the book down.

The Witch of Porto Bello – Paulo Coelho
Genre: Mystery, Life Philosophies
Brief review:-
Authentic and filled with overflowing truth about life. An honest writer with talents to put up a story of life the way it should be, the truth behind it that we always overlooked. The character Athena will bring you into the understanding of life, the joy behind the rainbow and the dark shade of it.

The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho
Genre: Mystery, Life Philosophies
Brief review:-
A must read book! By pulling this kind of story, Paulo Coelho had brought his book up into an entirely new level. A story about life, the mystery behind, and a story about the one who believe…

Johnny Depp is back as Public Enemies

Johnny Depp is back in action. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you public enemies, a great story of an antihero during depression era around 1931 – 1935.

Now now…there’re a lot of talks and rants about the role of Christian Bale inside this movie lately. Most of it rambled about the disappearance of Bale’s picture inside the theatrical poster, the obscurity of the character, bla bla bla… Okay, I have a simple idea about this issue. Bale and Depp imposed two different set of charisma and impression towards the audience. Depp, obviously he could throw a sharp and striking impression inside posters. Something even Bale can do, but not something they can do together. That would be totally contradictory, don’t you think?

Or maybe… the movie is focusing mainly on John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and not really into Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale). Anyway, this is just an opinion and the truth can only be revealed by the production itself. Who knows, maybe there’re marketing strategies behind the reasons which I’m not really aware of.

There’re a lot of disappointments in summer movies as we heard over the online social network or maybe some of you heard about it from friends or dedicated ‘movies watchers’. Many of us alleged that Hollywood movies quality are declining and not meeting public expectation. In short, Hollywood has become a public enemies. However, ‘Public Enemies’ are one of the summer movies that you should see, the on that would push the thought away.

Adapted from Bryan Burrough’s non-fiction book, ‘Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933–34’, it’s a historic story about a bank robber (John Dillinger) who was being chased by a FBI agent. But for those of you who are thinking of bringing your children to this movie, think twice, because this movie had been rated as full of violence and gangster scenes.

This movie has been rated 47 percent in tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes and received 9.1/10 votes by 2154 voters in IMDB. So guys, it’s worth watching.

I’m going to watch the movie once it’s released in my country, and I hope, so were you. That’s all guys! Thanks for stopping by and please, please keep on reading Frosted Cigar for entertainment updates. See you guys.
